Salman Khan’s latest film Tiger 3 is getting a lot of attention. Fans are rushing to theaters to see Salman’s action scenes and Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo. The movie is the talk of the town right now.
While Salman is enjoying the film’s success, he was recently mentioned in a speech by politician Priyanka Gandhi. The Congress party leader poked fun at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and suggested a new movie title for him.
In her speech, Priyanka said Modi seems “permanently upset in his own pain.” She referred to Salman Khan’s 2003 film Tere Naam where he cries throughout the film after losing his love.
Priyanka suggested making a new movie about PM Modi called “Mere Naam” (My Name). She said it could show Modi crying from start to finish, just like Salman Khan in Tere Naam.
The politician was using the famous Bollywood film and Salman’s crying scenes to mock the Prime Minister’s serious demeanor. While people are currently talking about Salman’s hit Tiger 3, Priyanka’s speech used the actor’s name to take a humorous jab at Modi.
Salman Khan’s performance in the 2003 film Tere Naam was praised by fans. He portrayed the role of Radhe very well. Tere Naam can be watched again now on Netflix.
Salman’s latest movie, Tiger 3, had a huge opening weekend at the box office when it was released. However, the numbers dropped a bit on the second day. By the third day, Tiger 3 was back on track doing well again.
Reviews of Tiger 3 from fans are mixed. Some enjoyed Salman’s Diwali release, while others were disappointed comparing it to Shah Rukh Khan’s film Jawan.
On Sunday, the India vs New Zealand cricket match took some attention away from Tiger 3, causing collections to dip. But now that the festival season is ending, hopefully Tiger 3 can earn more money at the Indian and international box office going forward.
Even with some ups and downs, Salman Khan remains a big draw for fans. The actor’s performance in Tere Naam years ago is still appreciated today. And his star power continues to bring crowds to theaters for new films like Tiger 3.
